Nedra Jade Cadiz (Potter)
December 28, 1947 — October 26, 2025
Nedra, also known as Nikki or Neddie, passed away on October 26, 2025, at the age of 77 in her Island Park, NY home after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was born on December 28, 1947, and raised in Quechee, Vermont, dedicating her life to the care of others.
After graduating from high school in 1965, Nedra joined the U.S. Army Medical Corps, serving as an Army Nurse during the Vietnam War. It was during this time she met and married her husband, Richard D. Cadiz. They raised two sons, Richard P. and Robert. Nedra was deeply involved in her children's lives, serving as a religious instructor, Cub Scout den mother, school volunteer, and assisting with the Sacred Heart Parish feast.
Later, she returned to nursing at a general practitioner's office. In 1990, she established her own business, Jade Data Research, which specialized in providing property ownership records for government agencies. She operated this business for over 30 years until her illness.
Her parents, Everett and Dorothy Potter, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, her two sons, her brothers Jack, Jason, and Jeff Potter, and her grandchildren Tristan, Devin, Jake, and Brianna Cadiz.
She ran the family from her dining room table and put all her love in the feasts she prepared for all. Her life was characterized by profound love, and she left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her love will continue to illuminate the hearts of those she touched. A graveside service will be held at Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee, VT, on Saturday, November 15th, at 12:30 pm. This will be followed by a remembrance luncheon at the Coolidge Hotel in White River Junction, VT, from 2 pm to 5 pm. All friends and family are welcome.
