Nancy A. Tenney
Hartford, VT – Nancy A. Tenney, 69, died Sunday November 1, 2015 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a three year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born January 24, 1946 in Hanover, NH a daughter of Vaughan and Margaret (Fields) Truell. Nancy grew up in Hartford where she continued to live all of her life. After graduating from Hartford High School class of 1964, she earned her associate's degree from Champlain College in Burlington. She was married to Roger Tenney June 18, 1966 in Hartford and they made their home on her family's farm in Hartford. Nancy began her career as an administrator at Dartmouth College shortly after receiving her degree and worked at both Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Hitchcock for the past forty five years.
She loved spending time with her family, most especially her grandsons, "her boys". As a native Vermonter, growing up on a working dairy farm, Nancy had a deep appreciation for the land and all its natural beauty. She enjoyed hiking in the woods, watching the birds and wild animals and working the land in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed searching for and collecting interesting antiques.
She fought her battle with incredible toughness and dignity. She is survived by her husband, Roger, of Hartford; her daughter, Heather Tenney and husband Mark Lim of Reading, MA and grandsons Jacob and Riley.
