Springfield, VT-Nancy L. Sargent, 70, died Sunday, August 11, 2019 at her granddaughter, Jessica L. Sargent's home in Belmont.

Nancy was born April 4, 1949 in Windsor, VT, a daughter of Warren and Jessie (Shambo) Becker. She attended Windsor Schools and was married to George A. Sargent, Sr. on February 3, 1973 in Fitchburg, MA. They worked together as a team painting and installing wallpaper. They would move around to wherever the work would take them, settling in Springfield. Nancy was the executive head of housekeeping for the Residence Inn, Howard Johnson's in Springfield and later at the Quality Inn in Quechee, VT retiring in 2010.

Nancy loved dogs and cats, collecting elephant memorabilia, she also enjoyed houseplants and would care for them like a child, but her greatest love was for family and she would always put their needs ahead of hers.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband George A. Sargent, Sr.; two brothers, Danny and James Becker; and four sisters, Betty Lamire, Margaret Ellis, Beatrice Bashaw, Patricia Tessier and Donna Becker.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Bixby of Belmont, VT; three sons, Scott Sargent of Springfield, VT, Douglas Sargent of Belmont, and George Sargent, Jr. of Perkinsville, VT; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and a step-daughter Cindy Fordham of Lempster, VT.
