Obituary

Enfield, N.H.--- Nancy Clarke Laubenheimer,73, died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was born on December 12, 1942 in Englewood, NJ, the daughter of John and Fannie Clarke. She attended Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, NJ, class of 1960. Nancy went on to study at the University of Bridgeport, receiving a degree in Fashion Merchandising, and later worked for Lord and Taylor in NYC and in Jenkintown, PA. Nancy was married to Richard H. Laubenheimer on July 17, 1965 in Demarest, NJ. While living at Saratoga Lake in NY, Nancy attended SUNY in Albany, NY and trained to be a teacher in Secondary Education. In 1981, Nancy and husband, Richard, and their three children, moved to Quechee, VT, where Richard began a 20 -year pastorate at the Quechee Community Church. In Quechee, Nancy worked in retail for Simon Pearce and later worked in the Hartford School District, both at the Quechee Elementary School and the Ottaquechee School. At the Quechee Community Church, Nancy devoted her efforts to the Christian Education program, missions and the Quechee Balloon Festival Yard Sale. In 2001 they moved to Enfield, NH, where Richard served at the Union Church of Enfield Center and Nancy worked at the Lebanon High School with students having special needs. In 2011 they became "snowbirds" and spent winters in Charlotte, NC. In 2015 they moved back to Enfield full-time.

Nancy loved teaching, learning, reading, gardening, collecting books, doing puzzles and crosswords, antiquing, walking, traveling, being with her grandchildren, attending classical music concerts, and many other blessings of this earthly life.

She was admired for her hospitality, Biblical teaching, and Christian witness.

Nancy has gone on before her husband of 51 years, Reverend Richard Laubenheimer. She also leaves her son, Timothy Laubenheimer and spouse, Chikage Nakashima of Brooklyn, NY; son Mark Laubenheimer of Seattle, WA; and daughter, Anne Vitello and spouse, James Vitello, of Kennebunk, ME. Grandchildren: Audrey and Thomas Vitello, and Koreto and Haruki Laubenheimer.

She is survived by her brother, Tom Clarke of Pompton Plains, NJ. She was predeceased by her other brother, Ronald Clarke, of Kirkland, WA.

A Memorial Service for Nancy will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 11 am at the Union Church of Enfield Center, in Enfield, NH.
