Nancy
Hall
July 14, 1957 – April 8, 2020
Nancy (Robideau) Hall, 62, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, April 8 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
She was born July 14, 1957 in Burlington, VT and as an infant was adopted by Francis and Margaret (Lapine) Robideau. Nancy was raised in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1975. She continued her education at Springfield College majoring in Human Services. She met Jim Larkin shortly after high school graduation and their relationship continued to develop while Nancy was at college. They were married and raised their two sons, Sean and Andrew, in Windsor. Nancy and Jim were later divorced.
In 1987, Nancy married Charlie Hall and they resided in Norwich. Nancy and Charlie added two additional children to the family, Ryan and Ashley. In 1999, another two children, Messay and Kenedi, were adopted from Ethiopia to complete the large family of six children. Nancy was a proud, devoted, and loving mother and thoroughly enjoyed raising all her children. Nancy and Charlie were later divorced.
Nancy had a keen intellect and was fond of learning and sharing her knowledge with her family and many friends throughout her life. She remained active in the Windsor community, was a member of the Windsor Alumni Association staying active with the Class of 1975. She graciously hosted the construction of the class float at her home for many years. Nancy was also a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was one of two founding members of the first Vermont CHADD Chapter (Children with Attention Deficit Disorder). She will be remembered as a kind and generous person and one who had a true interest in helping others. She held several professional positions, including as a counselor, a children's advocate and a respiratory therapist.
More than anything, the role that Nancy was most passionate about was being a mother. She was fiercely devoted to her children and advocated for them in every way possible. As her six children grew into adulthood each one of them came to appreciate her love and support more and more and are extremely grateful to have had her as a mother.
She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing Christmas stockings for her children and then grandchildren. The foremost focus in her life was always the well-being of others and especially her family. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, David Robideau. Survivors include four sons, Sean Larkin of Windsor, Andrew Larkin of Boston, MA, Ryan Hall of White River Jct., and Kenedi Hall of Windsor, two daughters, Ashley Hall and Messay Hall, both of Windsor, seven grandchildren, Logan, Tianna, Kalem, Brianna, Reese, Harper and Norah, all who fondly referred to Nancy as "Nonnie", and several nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, public services will be held in the summer when restrictions are lifted at a place and date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society at PO Box 702, Brownsville, VT 05037. The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor is entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to her family in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .
