Nancy J. Dow, 78, passed peacefully surrounded by all her children on September 28, 2021 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was born in Windsor, VT on April 24 ^th , 1943 to Millard and Marion White. Nancy spent her life in Hartland, VT before building her family home with her husband, Vincent Dow. Nancy held several jobs, managing the Talley House in White River Junction, working as the Assistant Town Clerk in Hartland, serving lunch at the Hartland Elementary School, and as the friendly face behind the counter at BG's Market in Hartland, but her favorite job was being a stay-at-home mom when her children were young.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, three sisters' Jean, Virginia and Mary, and brother Philip. In her large family, Nancy is survived by her four brothers, Thomas (Ann), Richard (Edith), Robert and Paul (Janie) her five children, John, Barbara, Timothy, Deborah (Paul) and Jennifer, six grandchildren Zachary, Tanner, Jadie, Elizabeth, Max and Abigail, and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy always said her only regret in life was that she did not have more children. She enjoyed being the home away from home for many nieces, nephews and neighborhood kids, having a never-ending supply of her famous chocolate chip cookies for all. An instinctual baker and cook, Nancy hosted all of the family holiday dinners at her house surrounded by family.

A selfless and generous soul, Nancy dedicated her life to making others happy. She donated her time, baked goods and heart to many local organizations, and spent much of her free time sewing and knitting sweaters, hats, blankets and dolls for all the children in her life. The biggest support and advocate for her family, Nancy attended many sporting events, plays and concerts over the years to watch her children and grandchildren while beaming with pride. A life surrounded by love and the simplicity of Vermont was all that was needed for Nancy to feel complete. She will be greatly missed by her family and will be remembered fondly by all who had the opportunity to meet her.

A private family graveside service will be held in the Hartland Cemetery on October 15 ^th .  Due to continued Covid concerns a funeral/reception will be held in the spring of 2022.
