HARTLAND, VT
Nancy A. Coombs, 77, a longtime resident of Hartland, passed away Friday morning, April 4, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born February 18, 1931 in Bennington, VT the daughter of Merrill and Jane (Smith McArthur) Atkins. She married Earl H. Coombs in Hartland on June 1, 1949. Mrs. Coombs was employed by the Hartland School District working with the school lunch program. She was later employed by the Homestead in Woodstock, VT, and at Sugarbush in Taftsville. She most recently did housework for Katherine Bacon in Hartland for many years until retiring.
Nancy enjoyed walking, gardening, dancing, music and riding motorcycles. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of Hartland, three daughters, Jane White and her husband, Paul, Joanie Bjorkman and her husband, Kenny and Christine Courtemanche and her husband, Peter, all of Hartland, one son, Richard Coombs and his wife, Sue of Stoneham, ME, two sisters, Betty Craig of Sun City, FL and DeDe Dana of Hartland, two brothers, Franklin Atkins of Gloversville, NY and Buster Atkins of Zephyrhills, FL, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, April 7 at 2:00 PM at the Hartland Congregational Church in Hartland, with the Rev. Lucia Jackson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Hartland Village Cemetery.
