Myrle T. Linnell
Lebanon, NH – Myrle T. Linnell, 81, died Sunday January 24th at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born January 1, 1929 a daughter of Ralph H. and Hetty (Maxfield) Talbot in Hilton, NY where she grew up and graduated from high school. She later graduated from the University of Rochester where she met Robert Hartley Linnell. They were married in 1950 and shortly after moved to Beruit, Lebanon where he taught chemistry. Mrs. Linnell moved with her husband several times as he took positions including in Maryland and Southern California. While in the Los Angeles area she received her teaching credentials and taught elementary school music in the inner city. They moved to White River Jct. in 1991 where they made their home until 2002 when they moved to Harvest Hill in Lebanon, NH. Mr. Linnell died in November of 2006.
Mrs. Linnell touched many lives through her actions and her positive outlook on life. She loved and was loved by her family and by everyone who knew her. She had a lifelong interest in the "cycle of life" and our responsibilities to be custodians of this planet. In this regard she was an active gardener, composter, animal-lover and dedicated follower of the Yankee expression of "use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without." Mrs. Linnell was an excellent friend to everyone, regardless of who they were. She was an exceedingly caring person and was generous with her time and assets to everyone. She was a faithful and devoted wife and mother who gave to others without looking for recognition.
She is survived by her four children Charlene Toews and her husband Tim of Highland Beach, FL, Lloyd Linnell and his wife Lorie of Superior, CO, Randa Mammarella and her husband Bob of Greer, SC and Dean Linnell of Canton, OH; ten grandchildren; six great grandsons and a sister Amy Talbot of NY, NY. She is predeceased by two sisters Charline Talbot and Mary Hooker MacLeod.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2PM at the Norwich Congregational Church in Norwich, VT.
