West Lebanon , NH - Muriel Simm "Simmie" Kibby, 92, died Tuesday July 24, 2012 at the Westboro House in West Lebanon .

She was born September 8, 1919 in Belmont, MA a daughter of Roy and Martha (Ramsdell) Simm. She was raised in Baltimore, MD and Woodbridge, NJ.

She attended Middlebury College where she met Gilbert V. Kibby of Randolph Center, VT. They were married on June 29, 1940 in Tazewell, VA and settled in White River Junction, VT.

She was very active in community and civic affairs in the town of Hartford, working with the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Rainbow Girls and Parent Teacher Associations. She was also a member of the Official Board of the United Methodist Church.

In 1959 she began work in administration at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH and later in Lebanon, NH for over thirty years and continued to serve the medical center through volunteer work after her retirement.

Of interest to her were books, beaches and lighthouses, but most especially family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert, as well as two sons, Gilbert Kibby Jr. and Peter Kibby Sr.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Krista Fish of Farmington Hills, MI and two grandsons, Peter Kibby Jr. and Mark Kibby both of Cincinnati , OH as well as 5 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at the Randolph Center Cemetery in Randolph , VT at a time and date to be determined.
