Windsor, VT — Muriel Elizabeth Rowland died Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Cedar Hill Nursing Home in Windsor, Vermont. She was 74 years old.
She was born December 20, 1945 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Charles & Elizabeth (Genovese) Lambert. After graduating from High School she went on to received her teaching degree from Temple University.
She was a history teacher in both Manchester, CT and then in Vermont. She studied clowning and developed her own character which she loved using. Muriel had a very positive outlook on life and was always cheerful.
She was married to Robert Buxton Rowland on June 25, 1983. She and Bob loved to travel: Many times to the Virgin Islands, and extensively to the National Parks especially Historical sites where they loved exploring the old battle fields. When they drove they would listen to books on tape.
Muriel and Bob were very active in the Senior Olympics and were once the World Champions in Shuffleboard. She also loved and would always travel with Bob to all the Barbershop Conventions and concerts and loved hearing him sing.
Bob died January 29, 2014. She was also predeceased by a brother Denis Lambert who died January 6, 2011.
She is survived by two step children, Pamela Rivers and Robert S. Rowland, four step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
Her cremated remains will be buried in the family lot in Wethersfield Village Cemetery in Wethersfield, CT at a later date.
