WINDSOR, VT
Minnie E. Craig, 82, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Monday, July 25 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
She was born September 3, 1928 in Windsor. Minnie was raised by her aunt, Rachel Ribi upon the unexpected death of her mother. She received her schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1947. She was employed at the former Windsor Manufacturing Corporation. She married Donald W. "Hook" Craig in Windsor on June 18, 1949. As a young lady she served as a caregiver for many prominent families throughout the Upper Valley for several years. She was a longtime and active member of the Old South Congregational Church in Windsor and volunteered at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital Gift Shop and at the Windsor Thrift Store. She enjoyed taking trips to and spending time in Maine. She was fond of bird watching and going to yard sales. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Minnie was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Craig passed away March 17, 1993. She was also predeceased by one son, Donald W. "DC" Craig on December 17, 2005, and by three brothers, Alfred Dyer, Raymond Dyer and Woodrow "Buster" Dyer.
Survivors include, three sons, Richard W. Craig and his wife, Laurie of Derby, VT, Brian W. Craig of Ascutney, VT and Scott W. Craig and his wife Robin, of Hartland, VT, eight grandchildren, Jane Ann Vivian, Jessica Monteith, Scott Craig, Jr., Lyndsey Craig, Melanie Sweeney, Matt Craig, Mike Craig and Richie Craig, II, eight great grandchildren, Emilee, Piper, Quinn, Jacky, Brady, Laurel, Molly and Sam, one brother, James Durkee of Orford, VT, two sisters, Mildred Rhoades and her husband, Larry of Bethel, VT and Elizabeth Arbuckle of Braintree, VT, several nieces and nephews, one daughter-in-law, Patricia Whitcomb of Groton, VT, and a longtime companion, Charlie Bellows of Windsor
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Sunday evening, July 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1 at 1:00 PM at the Old South Congregational Church in Windsor with the Rev. Amanda Lape-Freeberg, Pastor, officiating. Committal services will follow in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor. A reception for family and friends will follow at the church hall.
