Hartford, VT – Mildred Irene Johnson, 69, died late Saturday afternoon, July 30, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a long illness. She was born November 3, 1946 in Randolph, VT the daughter of Martin and Doris R. (Westover) Bowen Jr. Mildred grew up in Rochester, VT and graduated from Rochester High School. She was married to Robert Earl Johnson, Jr. on August 16, 1974. They lived there whole lives in Vermont including Post Mills, Strafford and for the last ten years in Hartford, VT. She was a stay at home mom raising her four children. Mildred enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing. She was a regular at the Stitch-n-Bitch ladies club in Bethel, VT. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and her dogs. She was very talented at crocheted and knitting. Over the years she had donated hundred of items she had made to area hospitals, nursing home and anyone who needed baby blankets, she made many blankets over the years for loved ones. Mildred was predeceased by a son, Todd Tucker and a daughter, Tammy Tucker. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Hartford Village, a daughter, Tracey Johnson of Groton, VT, a son, Robert E. Johnson, Sr. of Newport, NH, four grandchildren, Meaghean Emerson of Bath, NH, Melina Goodrich of Orford, NH, Joshua and Alexandra Wilson both of Groton, VT two great grandchildren, Karsyn Goodrich and Myleigh Rollins, a sister, Ginney Bettis of Rutland, VT, two brothers, Martin Bowen Jr. of Rutland, VT and Tim Bowen of Rochester, VT as well as several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Millie's life will be held Sunday August 14, 2016 at Sandy's Take Out in Sharon, VT, From 2-4pm Please bring a dish.
