LEBANON, NH

Mildred F. Barron, 92, a former resident of Lebanon, died Friday morning, December 18, 2015 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, NH. She was born June 20, 1923 in Ashburnham, MA, the daughter of Waldo A. and Hazel (Aylsworth) Cook. She went to the orphanage in Nashua, NH at the age of three. When she was thirteen she returned to live with her mother and step father. Mildred graduated from high school and started her long career as a factory worker. She worked at the Foxboro Company in Foxboro, MA and was employed the longest at the Attleboro Manufacturing Company. She was married to Nelson C. Barron on July 26, 1942 in Windsor, VT. They lived in Lebanon, NH for over twenty years. Mr. Barron died December 31, 1998.

Mildred was a long time and devoted member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and most recently attended at the new church in Plainfield, NH. She enjoyed caring for her bull dogs, and making latch hooked rugs. Mildred received great pleasure taking afternoon drives in her car.

She was predeceased by her husband, two sons, Richard Barron who died at the age of four, Roger Barron who died in 2001, a daughter, Norene Knowles who died in 2008. Mildred is survived by her beloved granddaughter, Gabrielle Hayes and her husband, James of Penacook, NH, two great grandchildren, Todd Hayes and Jennifer Hayes, and one great great grandson, Brayden Michael LaCroix. She also leaves her dear friend and former roommate, Rose Marie Peters.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 2, at 2:30 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT. Committal services will follow with weather permitting in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor, VT.
