HARTLAND, VT
Michael J. White, 58, a longtime resident of Hartland, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 11 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
He was born July 16, 1953 in Hanover, NH the son of Richard A. and Edith (Barrell) White. He received his schooling in Hartland and Windsor, and graduated from Windsor High School in 1971. Mike had been employed at Vermont Log in Hartland since July of 1970. He was a sports and civil war enthusiast. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing.
Survivors include his parents, Richard and Edith White of Hartland, three sisters, Patricia White of North Clarendon, VT, Betty Fields and her husband, Mark of Hartland Four Corners, and Peggy Dirkse and her husband, Lou of Lebanon, NH, five nieces and nephews, Allen White, Nathan Fields, Emily Fields, Cory Dirkse and Kasie Dirkse, and one grandniece, Malina Siciliano, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
At Mike's request there will be no formal funeral service.
A gathering for family and friends will be held Thursday evening, March 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. Committal services will be held at the convenience of his family at a later date in the Hartland Village Cemetery.
