Michael Gene Sargent, 75, formerly of Windsor, VT died on Monday, December 12, 2022, at his home in Springfield. He was born on May 29, 1947, in Windsor to Richard and Sarah (Taylor) Sargent. Michael will be remembered as the caretaker and rock of the family; he was always there for anyone and everyone who needed guidance, structure, or help to get back on to the right path. He was an amazing cook, a talented pianist and singer, and a competition winning tap dancer.

He is survived by four siblings, Tom Sargent of Windsor, Jacqueline Sargent of Ludlow, Donald Sargent of Windsor, and Rebecca Davis and husband Donald of Springfield, VT; two nieces who he raised as his own, Wanda Sargent McKane of Charlestown, NH and Tiffany Scott of Guilford, VT; three nieces with a special relationship, Lisa Mae Bixby of Belmont, VT, Kayla Ann Davis of Springfield, and Mary Lou Rickert of Springfield; lifelong friend, Jimmy Dunn; close friend who was like a sister, Donna Hayden; many other dear nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings, Charlotte Duling, Richard Sargent, III, Elbert G. Sargent, Peter Sargent, Paul Sargent, George Sargent, and Sandra Sargent; and one lifelong friend Jimmy Becker.

A visitation will be held from 1PM until time of service at 3PM on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT.
