Woodstock, Vermont – Michael L. Brown, Jr., 40, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, New Hampshire with family by his side. Michael was born on June 30, 1981, to Donna Lee Jillson and grew up in Bridgewater, VT. Michael attended Woodstock High School where he made many friends and found a joy of playing basketball, sporting number 34 since grade school, he was known for never missing a 3-point shot. He graduated from Woodstock High School in 1999. He then pursued becoming a cook at many local restaurants such as Bentleys, Keepers and Pi Brick Oven Trattoria. Michael had a great love for sports and avidly followed his favorite teams, the Giants, Red Sox, and Celtics, really though the Charlotte Hornets. Michael's heart and love for his family and friends was so large and apparent to all through his presence at the times when those he loved needed it most.

He is survived by his wife Samantha Caldwell of Woodstock, Vermont; stepfather Steve Walker of Woodstock; two cousins who were always considered siblings, Michelle LaClair and husband Jeff of Windsor, Vermont and Wade Vivian of White River Junction, Vermont; nephews and nieces Evan, Vivian, Amelia, and Wade Jr; his cat Luna; a god daughter Ella Ballou and her mother Amy and father Jay Ballou, Michael's best friend; Aunt Che of Arizona and Uncle Ken of Woodstock and many life-long friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Donna Lee Jillson; aunt Peggy Jillson Vivian; and grandmother Erlene Rogers.

Services for Michael will be held at a later date. Memorials to the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care.
