HARTLAND, VT
Melissa E. Beland, 33, a resident of Hartland passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 22 in Weathersfield.
She was born July 8, 1978 in Manchester, NH the daughter of Richard and Marianne (Berg) Beland. She received her schooling in Hartland and attended Hartford High School. Melissa was a stay at home mother raising and caring for her two sons. She worked at the Ott-Dog Snack Bar in Quechee for four years. She greatly enjoyed camping and was a member of the Windsor Elks Lodge #1665. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, John and Dorothy Berg, whom she took care of for five years until their passing.
She is survived by her parents, Richard and Marianne Beland of Hartland, two sons, Devon M. and Zachary R. Beland of Hartland, two brothers, Richard Beland, Jr. of Hartland and Christopher Beland of Lebanon, her paternal grandparents, Richard and Betty Beland of Hartland, several aunts, uncles, three nieces, one nephew and cousins.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Friday evening, July 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30 at 1:00 PM at the First Congregational Church in Hartland, with Barbara Loyer, officiating. Committal services will follow in the Hartland Village Cemetery in Hartland. A reception for family and friends will follow at the church hall.
