Windsor, VT – Melanie Ann Minard (Houghton) 64, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Melanie was born on September 9, 1960, in Windsor, VT. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1978 and pursued nursing at the University of Vermont. Throughout her career, she worked at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Mt. Ascutney Hospital, and Springfield Hospital. She married Randy Minard in 1988, and they later divorced in 2006.

Melanie was a dedicated professional who took pride in her work in the medical field. In her downtime, she enjoyed watching medical and true crime shows. She also loved walking, especially in Paradise Park, but her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother.

Melanie is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Evan Houghton, her two brothers, Wayne Wardwell and Roy Houghton, and her sister, Ellen Major. She is survived by her son, Aaron Minard of Windsor; her two daughters, Rachael Minard of White River Junction and Krista Mock of South Royalton, VT; her brother, Elwin Houghton of Windsor; and three sisters, Susan Holmes of Windsor, Penny Van Weort of Plattsburgh, NY, and Pam Hoffmaster of Linden, VA.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of Knight Funeral Home in Windsor.
