Lebanon, New Hampshire- Mederic Dube, 86, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Hanover Terrace Health Care in Hanover, NH.
Dube was born October 25, 1925 in St. Germain, QC, Canada, the son of Emeril and Yvonne (Dion) Dube. His family moved to Lebanon at a young age where he attended the local schools. He worked in the Lebanon Woolen Mill for a time before his career in the United States Army serving in WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars. Upon his return from service Mederic became a custodian at the Lebanon High School in Lebanon where he worked until his retirement. He was married to Mabel (Smith) Edson August 25th 1985 in Lebanon. Dube was known around town as the "man on the bike" always traveling to and from work on his bicycle with a stogie in his mouth.
Dube was a former member of the American Legion Post# 22 and The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9952 both in Lebanon. He was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed attending yard sales, woodworking, gardening and most of all spending time with his family.
Dube is predeceased by two brothers Raymond Dube and Arthur Dube; and two sisters Noela LaJoie and Oregine Clark.
He is survived by his beloved wife Mabel Dube of Lebanon; two sons Albert Edson of Lebanon, Dana Edson and family of Fryeburg, ME; and a daughter Rose Marie Edson of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Jonathan Edson and his family of Chelsea, VT and Thomas Edson of Lebanon; three sisters Theresa Stone, Blanch Clark both of Lebanon, and Alice Aldrich of Enfield, NH, and numerous nieces and nephews
Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lebanon Wednesday November 9th at 11AM. Knight Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
