Borcuk
July 23, 1934 – October 24, 2022
Claremont, NH- Maxine I. Borcuk, 88, died Monday, October 24, 2022, at Valley Regional Hospital following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family. She was very at peace with God and she was ready for this journey.
Maxine was born July 23, 1934, in Biddeford, ME a daughter of Clarence and Ila (Dow) Honney. She grew up in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1952. She was married to Roland Robert Vigneault. They had four children together, and later separated. She worked various jobs in Windsor, including Cone Automatic and real estate sales. In 1982, she reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, William Borcuk, and ten days later they were married. They made their home in Anaheim, CA where she owned and operated two One Hour Photo shops. Following retirement in 1990, they returned to the Upper Valley to be closer to family.
Maxine was a member of the Windsor Elks BPOE 1965 Emblem Club. She enjoyed crafting and made beautiful art. She enjoyed yard sales and flea markets so much that she was a self-proclaimed 'Yard Sale Goddess' and even gave out business cards. She lived for her family and loved them more than anything. She would always have the most extravagant parties for holidays and was great at getting the family together. She had a wonderful sense of humor that was contagious. Her famous quote to us all was, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade."
She was predeceased by her grandson, Carleton "Choch" Murphy, III in 2019.
Maxine is survived by her husband and best friend, William Borcuk; a son, Roland Robert Vigneault, Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Virginia, three daughters, Michelle Vigneault-Brown and her husband, Paul of Lebanon, NH, Heidi Cyrus of Hartland, VT, and Shawni Vigneault and Mark Fleming of Ahwahnee, CA; a sister, Claire Harlow and her husband, Ralph of Hartland, VT, grandchildren that were her whole world: Caitlin Sabins, Tiffany Vigneault, Elysa Nelson, Ian Monica, Tera Howard, Kara Filiault, Rosie Vigneault, and Theo Vigneault. She also had several great grandchildren, friends and loved ones.
She had a very special bond and connection with Theo. Before she passed, Theo sent her a voice clip and made plans to go to the ocean and he told her that she was his very best friend in the whole world. This message got her through her last days.
