White River Junction VT - Maureen Elizabeth (Hayes) Raymond passed away on March 28th, 2022 at her home in WRJ, VT. She was born on December 11, 1951 in Hanover, NH to Brian and Betty (Plummer) Hayes. Maureen grew up in Canaan, NH and graduated in 1969 from Mascoma Valley Regional High School.

Maureen was predeceased by her parents, her brother Mark Hayes, and her daughter Kasey Hayes. She leaves behind her husband Steve, their twins Randy and Dani, and sisters Denise MacMillan of Surfside Beach, SC and Donna Coakley of Barre, VT and many nieces and nephews.

Maureen was born with an ability to read and understand people, and had a nurturing and generous nature. She used all that to help those in need through her work, volunteering, and her daily life. She held different jobs over many years in the Social Services field. She was a counselor for a teenage girls' halfway house, an alcohol and drug counselor at Headrest, and spent eight years as a Mental Health Worker at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. She was a strong woman with a forceful personality that could motivate others to get the right thing done. When she could no longer work, she still found a way to enjoy helping others by volunteering at The Haven in White River Junction.

Her family would like to express gratitude to the Visiting Nurse and Hospice for VT and NH for taking excellent care of Maureen during her final weeks.

Services to be held at Sacred Heart Church of Lebanon, NH on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, at 10 am. A gathering will immediately follow at the Upper Valley Senior Center, 10 Campbell Street, Lebanon, NH.
