Windsor, VT- Matthew S. Young, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the age of 40 after months of fighting medical issues.

Matthew was born on June 14, 1985, the son of Richard Kelly Young and Jackie (Varney) Young. He grew up in Windsor alongside his brother, Michael.

Matthew faced a long and challenging journey with his disability, but for the past eight years, he was fortunate to have his beloved service dog, Lennon, faithfully by his side. Despite the complexity of his medical condition, he faced each day with resilience and a smile. In June of this year, he was overjoyed to return to his hometown, where his social nature quickly drew him close to his neighbors. Matthew enjoyed music, specifically the "oldies."

Matthew was predeceased by his father, Richard Kelly Young in 2022. Matthew's mother, Jackie Young died on February 16, 2025, and his brother Michael Young died on February 7, 2025.

He is survived by his grandmother, Carol Varney of Fort Myers, FL, his aunt, Judith Meunier (Richard) also of Fort Myers, and an uncle, Joseph Varney (Carrie) of Thetford, VT.
