White River Jct., VT – Matthew John Henderson, 38, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 25, 2025 in Hartford, VT.

He was born January 30, 1987, in Lebanon, NH a son of David Henderson and Mary Ann Devins. Matt grew up in White River Junction and attended Hartford High School and graduated with the class of 2005, where he enjoyed playing baseball. He spent most of his work life as an arborist, working with John's Quality Tree Service in Enfield, NH, TNT Stump Grinding and Tree Work in Wilder, VT, and most recently for himself.

Matt learned to love time outdoors from an early age. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and time at the family's camps on Goose Pond and Tigertown.

Matt is survived by a daughter, Alexis Henderson of Manchester, NH; his father, David Henderson of White River Jct.; mother, Mary Ann Devins of Bellows Falls; a brother, Robin Henderson and two sisters, Kathleen Pelkey (James) and Suzanne Henderson all of White River Junction, VT. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his best friend Brandon Kenison.

He was predeceased by a brother, Michael in 2021 and a niece, Samantha in 2020.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 8th from 4-6PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT. A memorial service will be held at 11am Monday, November 10th at the funeral home, with burial to follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Junction, VT.
