Matthew G. Fogg

West Hartford, VT – Matthew G. Fogg, 47, died Friday March 24, 2017 at home in West Hartford following a long battle with cancer.

He was born March 26, 1969 in Lebanon, NH a son of Lawrence and Patricia (Facteau) Fogg. Matt graduated from Hartford High School class of 1988 before serving in the US Navy as a submariner for four years. After his honorable discharge from the navy, he began working at Hypertherm in Lebanon. Matt was married to Karen Dupree in Plainfield, NH August 20, 1994. They made their home in West Hartford near Matt's family where they raised their children and lived since. Matt and his brothers worked together as co-owners of Fogg's Stoneworks, crafting stone walls and other masonry structures.

Matt enjoyed trips to Maine to visit the ocean and camping, especially at family reunions. Above all he loved being a father and was very proud of his children.

He was predeceased by his parents, four sisters Sandra Fogg, Christine Punt, Rosemary Bessent, and Valerie Fogg.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son Corey and two daughters Kelsey and Ashley Fogg all of West Hartford; two brothers Vernon (Kim) and Stanley Fogg both of West Hartford, four sisters Pamela (Bill) Stanley of Romney, WV, Marjorie (David) Brown of Columbia, MD, Josephine Fogg, and Elizabeth Fogg both of Morrisville, VT, mother and father-in-law Wayne and Judy Dupree and brother-in-law David Dupree all of Meriden, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Tuesday March 28th from 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ in Hartford Village on Wednesday March 29th at 1PM with the Sally Ann Silfies officiating.
