Obituary
Wilder, VT – Millie Whitney, 91, died Wednesday May 11th at her home in Wilder.
She was born February 7, 1920 in Claremont, NH a daughter of Anthony and Nellie (Husdza) Leszkiewicz. She graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont in 1939 and later from Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing in Hanover, NH. Millie was married to Richard Whitney in 1949 and has made her home in Wilder since. She worked as a nurse at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover for 32 years retiring as Supervisor of Ambulatory Services in 1982.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard in 1997; three brothers Conrad, Edward & Charles Leszkiewicz; and two sisters Ginnie Giguere and Ann Guthrie.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews including John Halpin of Thetford Center, VT. Although she did not have any children of her own she was considered "Mom" to all of her nieces and nephew and "grammie" to her next door neighbor's the Leamy's
A graveside service will be held in the Hartford Cemetery in White River Jct. Friday at 2PM.
