Obituary

Mary M. Rogers 91, passed away Wednesday, May 4 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in West Lebanon, NH on February 4, 1925, the daughter of William & Irene (O'Conner) Mock.
She graduated from Hartford High School in 1943. At just five feet tall, as a young women, she played basketball on the Hartford High School women's team and was affectionately called "elbows" which apparently made up for her size.
She never drifted very far from Hartford High School and Hartford sports. She retired from Hartford in 1999 after a 39 year commitment to the school community which also included many of its sports team. She was an ally and friend to students who needed a word of encouragement, comfort or a "pass" to get in or out of school or class. She loved her job, but she especially enjoyed the students and her coworkers.
She had an easy going spirit and a warm and welcoming smile. She never missed any of her children's sporting events. She was very knowledgeable about sports especially football and basketball and an avid fan. She rarely missed a televised New England Patriots football game or a Duke University basketball game. She also enjoyed spending several weeks every summer beginning when her children were small at the beach either in Maine or New Hampshire.
More than anything else she loved and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Rogers in 2004. She is survived by a son Thomas and his wife Judy of Rochester, NH; two daughters Debbie St. Peter of Sharon and Cindy Rogers of White River Jct. She is also survived by her grandchildren Justin St. Peter and his wife Justine and their children Colby, Tieryn, Phinna, Oliver and Faerghus; Sarah St. Peter her partner Mike Marcroft and their son Ayden; Molly Ebitson and her husband Michael and their daughter Carly; Brandon Rogers and his wife Lauren. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Mock and her sister Patricia Smith.
A graveside service will be held on June 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Jet. After the service a celebration of her life will be held at her daughter's home at 646 Broad Brook Road in Sharon from 12:00-2:00pm.
