She was born January 2, 1948, in Barton, VT, a daughter of Kenneth and Erma (Thompson) Potter. After Mr. Gee's death in 2018, Mary remained in Indianapolis with her son until moving back to the Upper Valley earlier this year to be nearer to her family.

Mary has been an animal lover all of her life and has been rescuing animals since she was a young girl. She was talented at needlework and enjoyed crocheting and knitting items for family and friends. She also enjoyed following her favorite television programs.
