Norwich, VT – Mary Irene Moore, 97, died peacefully, early Thursday morning, January 5, 2023 at Hanover Terrace in Hanover, NH. She was born February 5, 1925 in Hanover, NH, the daughter of Dennis P. and Lucy (Hebert) Moore.

She grew up in Norwich and graduated from Hanover High School. Upon graduation Mary went to work for American Optical in Hanover, NH.   When the business was sold she was hired by Dr. Clerkin in White River Jct., Vermont. Following Dr. Clerkin's retirement she opened her own optical business in Norwich, VT.  She owned and operated Norwich Optical for a number of years.

Mary loved her cats, dogs and watching the wild birds that came to her feeders. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing ceramic work. She also spent many hours enjoying word search puzzles.

Mary was predeceased by her two brothers Bernard Moore and Henry Moore.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held in the family lot in the Hillside Cemetery in Norwich, VT at 10AM on May 6, 2023.
