BEDFORD, NH

Mary C. Larmie, 91, a resident of Bedford and a former resident of Windsor and Claremont, passed away Wednesday morning, July 26 at the Bedford Hills Center in Bedford.

Mary was born October 28, 1925 in Claremont, NH the daughter of Hubert and Gladys (Laskey) Blanchard. She received her schooling in Claremont and attended Stevens High School, earning her GED in her 40s. She married George P. Larmie in Windsor in August of 1943. Mary started her employment in 1960 working as a nurse's aid at the Sullivan County Home in Unity and later at Mt. Ascutney Hospital. Before her retirement in 1986, she worked for the Hartland School District as an aid to special needs children. Mary was a loving wife and mother and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary was a member of the Bugbee Senior Center in White River and of the Quechee Church of Christ in Quechee for several years. Her husband passed away on September 28, 1994. She moved to Nottingham, NH in 2003 to live with her daughter and was a member of Bethany Church in Greenland, NH.

She enjoyed reading her Bible and spent hours crocheting. In her 70s, Mary learned how to paint oil landscapes using the Bob Ross method. She loved foliage rides and visits to the ocean; as well as family reunions.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, one son, George A. Larmie, two daughters, Jo-Ann Green, and infant, Linda Marie Larmie, three brothers, Richard, Paul, and Frederick Blanchard, and by three sisters, her twin, Marjorie Riviezzo, Sally Strout, and Ruth Adams.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna L. Miller and her husband, John of Derry, NH, one son, Dana Larmie and his wife, Brenda Baker, of Charlestown, NH, two sisters, Flossie Strout of St. Cloud, FL, and Anna Brown of Windsor, twelve grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 4 at 2:00 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. The Rev. Bruce Southerland, Care Pastor of the Manchester Christian Church in Manchester, NH, will officiate. Committal services will follow in the family lot in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor. Family and friends are invited to gather for refreshments and fun at the baseball field at Dale's Mobile Home Park in North Hartland following the committal service.
