Windsor, VT- Mary D. Kent, 92, died on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at her daughter's home in Hartland, VT surrounded by her family.

Mary was born March 30, 1930, in Windsor, a daughter of George and Mary Tressa (Haley) Dunbar. She grew up in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1948. She married Luther Kent in Windsor on November 10, 1949, and they made their home in Windsor. Mary helped Luther with the books for their plumbing and heating company and in 1973, started a small clothing business, Seasons Smiles, that she operated until 1979. Mary's interests included: volunteering at various area places, the Hartland school reading program, camping, anytime spent at York Beach Maine, and most of all her family.  She so disliked driving and didn't get her license until there were no children left at home to drive her and Luther told her he couldn't do it either, forcing her to get a license.  She could be seen speeding thru Windsor so she could get home and out of the car.

Mary was an active member of the Windsor Rotary Club, the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church, and the Ascutney Order of the Eastern Star #2. She was also a Girl Scout leader, a Den Mother, and a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club in Windsor.

Mary is predeceased by her husband Luther Kent and her brother George Dunbar.

She is survived by a son Kevin Kent and wife Lori of Claremont, NH; a daughter Karen Walker and husband David of Hartland; two granddaughters Amanda Walker and Season Smith; two great-grandchildren Owen Sprague and Kennedy Smith; a sister Beverly King of Eliot, ME; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 1pm in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
