HARTLAND, VT -
Mary M. Kelley, 92, died Monday, May 30, 2016 at Mt Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT, following a period of declining health.
She was born February 6, 1924 in Westford, VT, a daughter of Joseph and Margaret (McNaney) Germain. She graduated from St Joseph's Convent in Burlington, VT and later went to work as a certified Nurse's Assisstant at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in White River Junction, VT where she worked until retirement. She was married to Robert "Pat" Baker in 1945. They were later divorced. She married Melvin O. Kelley on October 23, 1965. Melvin died September 5, 2008.
She is predeceased by her first and second husbands, two brothers Richard and Arthur Germain; two sisters Myrtle Germain and Gertrude "Trudy" Martell.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Baker of North Troy, VT and Richard Baker of Waterbury, VT;A sister, Catherine Thomas, of Essex Junction, Vermont; a granddaughter, Marissa Thomas; two great-granddaughters Bailey and Sadie Cook, several nieces and nephews; and a close friend Gaynor Coassin of West Windsor.
Mary loved going out to breakfast, knitting, crocheting and making afghans for many family members. She was extremely fond of flowers and chocolates.
A graveside service will be held in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT at the convenience of the family.
