White River Junction, VT- Mary Alice Gaylord, 73, died Thursday, December 29, 2023, at her home.

Mary was born August 5, 1950, in Albany, NY a daughter of Whitfield Ralph and Pauline (LaPage) Gaylord. She graduated from Chatham High School in 1968 in Chatham, NY. She worked in the area at local shops in customer service, moving in 1978 with her young son to Bradford, VT. They settled in White River Junction. She continued her career in customer service, working in local shops and convenience stores. In 2003, she moved for a time to Philmont, NY returning to White River Junction in 2013, where she took a position as a clerk at the White River Junction Welcome Center. This is where she worked until she was unable to, due to her health.

Mary enjoyed weekly card games with friends, playing BINGO, and going on bus trips to local casinos. She enjoyed crafting, making many pieces that will be cherished by her grandchildren for years to come. Mary loved her dog and faithful companion, Deedee.

Mary is preceded in death by five brothers, John Gaylord, Mark Gaylord, Jim Clifford, Dick Clifford, and Bob Clifford. She is survived by her son, Mike Simmons and his wife, Maggie, of White River Junction; four grandchildren, Keaton and his girlfriend Niamh, Lyndsay, Tayler, and Trevor; and a brother, Ed Gaylord of Riverton, UT.
