White River Junction, VT – Mary Lee Fennell, 94, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died on November 26, 2023, at Valley Terrace Assisted Living in White River Junction, VT.  She was born in Wilkinsburg, PA on September 17, 1929, to Minor L. Garrison and Mary A. (Stankosky) Garrison who were married on January 31, 1917.  Both of her parents served in the military during WWII and she was present near Pearl Harbor in 1941 as the bombing occurred.  The family later moved to Pittsburgh, PA and it was there that she met her husband, Harry C. Fennell, Sr. while she was doing data entry at Nabisco.  They married on November 1, 1949 and she turned her attention to raising a family.  She was a thrifty and practical mom who always found a way to make things work.  When the kids went on to college, she worked as the office manager for two surgeons in McKeesport, PA.   She was quite a keen card player and enjoyed playing games with friends, neighbors, and family into her early 90s.  In February of 2023, she made the move to the Upper Valley to be closer to her son, Henri (Harry, Jr.).

A private scattering service will be held in Pennsylvania at a location that was extremely special to her.

She is survived by two children Henri Fennell and wife Katherine of North Thetford, VT and Elizabeth Lynn Frankel of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry C. Fennell, Sr., and four siblings (Lillian, Ruth, Elenor, and Sonny).
