Obituary
White River Jct., VT – Mary S. DeFelice, 96, died Saturday February 27th with family at her side.
She was born March 1, 1913 a daughter of Alexander and Maria Rosa (Falzarano) Schettino in White River Jct. where she lived all of her life. She attended schools in White River Jct. and worked for a time at the Smith & Sons Candy Factory and Green Mountain Studios both in White River Jct. She was married to Stephen A. DeFelice at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in 1946. Mr. and Mrs. DeFelice were married for 60 years and raised their four children here in White River Jct.
Mrs. DeFelice was a member of St. Anthony's Church, and a lifelong community volunteer. She was a member of the American Legion Post 26 Auxiliary were she was voted 'Woman of the Year' for her volunteer efforts. A life member and past president of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 2571 Auxiliary, she most enjoyed putting on Bingo games and dancing. She was also very active at the Bugbee Senior Center doing volunteer work. She could be seen dancing at the VFW Club and at the Bugbee Sr. Center "helping the older folks", well into her 96th year.
She is predeceased by her husband Stephen, two brothers Louis and Joseph Schettino and four sisters Marion Levesque, Virginia Lachiatto, Angela Bleiler and Antoinette Izzo.
She is survived by a daughter Linda Reed of Jericho, VT and sons Raymond of Bedford, NH, Alex and his wife Mary Lou of Wilder, VT, and Stephen and his wife Dawn of Hartford, VT, She was a proud and loving grandmother, her grandchildren Alex DeFelice Jr., Jeremy DeFelice, Tony DeFelice, Christopher Reed, Jason Reed, Brenda McKenna, Thom DeFelice, Eric DeFelice and Brad DeFelice, Jenna Wheeler and Jaqueline Henry; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10AM at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct.
