Mary Etta Day, 89, passed away January 5th, 2021 at Cedar Hill assisted living facility in Windsor, VT .
Mary Etta was born May 19th, 1931 in Norwich, VT. The daughter of the late Clayton and Ruth Hadlock.
Mary Etta married Roy Day on her 19th birthday, May 19th, 1950. Together, Roy and Mary Etta built a home and raised a family in Lyme Center, NH. They lived in Lyme Center until February 2019 when they moved to Cedar Hill Assisted Living in Windsor, VT. Roy and Mary Etta celebrated their 70th anniversary last May.
During their years in Lyme Center, NH, They raised three daughters and Mary Etta served many years as the local post mistress. She loved her job and all the people she served.
Mary Etta is survived by her husband of 70 years, Roy Day. She is also survived by daughter Brenda Cann and her husband Donn . Daughter, Cindy Wilkesman and her husband Laurence Butterfield, Sr. Granddaughter, Liza Welch and husband Kevin. Two Great grandsons, Alexander Valley and Austin Guilbault. Also two nieces, Sandra Smith and Connie Bowdoin.
Mary Etta was predeceased by daughter Regenna Anne Sewell as well as her brothers and sister.
Arrangements are being done by Knight Funeral Home. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no formal services at this time. Mary Etta will be interred at Highland Cemetery in Lyme, NH.
