White River Jct., VT - Mary Alice Coutermarsh, 82, died January 20, 2010 at the Cedar Hill Nursing Home in Windsor, VT. Mrs. Coutermarsh was born March 21, 1927 a daughter of Norbert and Delphine (Dubois) Beauchene. She attended the Norwich School and Hanover High School. She was married to Ralph Coutermarsh on April 21, 1946 in White River Jct. She worked at the Hartford Woolen Mill for a time, and as a clerk at Purity Supreme, P&C, the Bakery Thrift Shop, and Newbury's.
Mrs. Coutermarsh was a member of the Hartford Emblem Club. She enjoyed spending time in Florida with her husband, walking the beaches for shells, dancing, playing shuffle board and bingo, knitting, crocheting, and most of all taking care of her grandchildren. Mrs. Coutermarsh is predeceased by four brothers, Arthur, William, Orvie, and Robert Beauchene; and two sisters Janet Drowne and Mary Douglas. Mrs. Coutermarsh is survived by her husband, Ralph Coutermarsh; a son, Thomas Coutermarsh and his wife Lynn all of White River Jct.; a daughter Judith Heugel and her husband Ralph of Fort Pierce, FL; Four grandchildren, Shane Coutermarsh, Shannon Flynn, Jim Monday, and Pam Monday; ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Morris Beauchene of Colorado Springs, CO, Norman Beauchene of Etna, NH; three sisters, Doris Couture, Deerfield, FL, Betty Barker of CA, and Laura White of Portland, OR. Friends may call Tuesday, January 26, 2010 5-7 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT. A memorial service will follow at 7PM.
