Obituary

Wilmot, NH – Mark W. MacKay, 46, died Tuesday February 9th surrounded by his family at home in Wilmot, NH after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was born April 17, 1963 in Lebanon, NH a son of Sterling and Patricia (Guyer) MacKay. Mark grew up in Vermont and moved to Virginia in his teens where he has lived until the past four years when he returned to the Upper Valley for medical care. He began as a mason's tender with his father at a young age and worked all of his life as a mason.

He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends Paul, Kent and Bobby. Mark was thrilled to go to hunting camp with his lifelong friend Paul Boles this fall despite his illness.

Mark was predeceased by his father August 9, 2005 and is survived by his mother Patricia Lavalette of White River Jct., VT, two sisters Sherri McMahon and Darlene Fulton both of Wilmot, nieces and nephews Daniel, Mariah, Jessica, Nolan and Owen and great nephew Wyatt, aunts and uncles including Sandra, Carolyn, Carsten, Della, and Jean; several cousins including Debbie Smith and his ex-wife Tracy Glenn of Altavista, VA and her brothers Scott and Mike.

A funeral service will be held Saturday February 13th at 1PM at the Olivet Baptist Church in West Lebanon, NH. Committal services will be in the Tree of Life Cemetery in Altavista, VA Wednesday February 17th at 11AM.
