HARTLAND, VT
Marion J. Rugg, 85, a longtime resident of Hartland, passed away Monday evening, June 9 at the Brookside Nursing Home in Wilder, VT.
She was born June 22, 1928 in Hartland the daughter of Millard and Marion (Lobdell) White. She received her schooling in Hartland and Windsor. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1947. She married Robert S. Rugg on April 29, 1950 in Milton, VT. They moved to Hartland in 1953. Mrs. Rugg was employed at McGee Oil in Woodstock for several years. She most recently worked as a secretary at the former Cone Blanchard Machine Tool Company in Windsor until her retirement.
She and her husband were fond of traveling and farming, and enjoyed riding motorcycles. Mr. Rugg passed away on November 3, 2004.
She was also predeceased by her parents, one brother, Phillip White and one son, Rickey M. Rugg.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Rugg and Ronald Rugg, both of Hartland, one daughter, Joan Jarvis of Camp Springs, MD, four brothers, Thomas White, Richard White, Robert White and Paul White, all of Hartland, three sisters, Mary Davis of West Hartford, VT, Virginia Ide of Quechee, VT and Nancy Dow of Hartland, four grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
At her request a graveside service will be held, Monday, June 16 at 10:00 AM in the Hartland Village Cemetery in Hartland. The Rev. William Sheldon will officiate.
