ASCUTNEY, VT
Marion J. Dane, 83, a former longtime resident of Ascutney, passed away Wednesday evening, January 20 at the Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH
She was born May 30, 1932 in Weathersfield, VT the daughter of Albert and Nettie (Manning) Moote. She received her schooling in Weathersfield and Springfield. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1949. She married Raymond Eastman in Perkinsville in 1950 and they were later divorced. She married Arnold O. Dane in Chester, VT on August 3, 1974. Marion was employed at the former Cone Blanchard Machine Tool Company in Windsor for several years and most recently as a sales clerk at Walmart in Claremont.
She was fond of dancing and traveling and loved her dogs. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mr. Dane passed away on October 31, 2007.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherry Ravlin and her husband, Robert of Charlestown, NH, two sons, Richard Eastman and his wife, Hazel of Claremont, NH and William Eastman and his wife, Christine of Springfield, VT, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
At her request a graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society at PO Box 702, Brownsville, VT 05037.
The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor is entrusted with the arrangements.
