White River Jct., VT – Marilyn T. Mock, 80, died August 21, 2014, at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct., VT.

Mrs. Mock was born June 27, 1934, in Randolph, VT, a daughter of Maurice and Hilda (Brown) Taft. After graduating from Spaulding High School in Barre, VT, she attended the University of Vermont, where, in 1956, she earned her Bachelor's Degree. She taught in Burlington for a short time before beginning her career in Hartford, where she taught for almost thirty years. After retiring from the Hartford School District, she taught in Lebanon, NH, for eleven years.

Mrs. Mock was a member of the National Education Association, the Vermont Teachers Association, the Hartford Teachers Association and the Lebanon Teachers Association. She was an extraordinarily creative and caring person who took great pride in her home and flower gardens. She enjoyed the loving support of many friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of thirty-seven years, Harold Mock; her sister, Marie Oesterle; and stepchildren Martin Mock and Michele Ashley.

She leaves a niece Ellen Oesterle of Boston; nephew Steven Oesterle of Essex Jct., VT, and his children Justin, Cory and Sara; stepson Michael Mock of Dorchester, NH, his wife Heidi and children Dillon and Cole; stepson Mitchell Mock of Tuscon, AZ, his wife Donna and children Trevor and Isadora; stepgranddaughter Martina Ashley; stepsister Sheila Bean and her husband Melvin; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday, August 25, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery following the service.
