Marie E. Richards, 82, died Friday, August 06, 2010 at her home in White River Junction,
She was born June 2, 1928 in Newport, Vermont, the daughter of Oliver and Emily (Sheltra) Diette. She was married to Roger Richards in 1950. She was a graduate of the Bishop Degoesbriand Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington and was employed at Mary Hitchcock Hospital and Alice Peck Day Hospital as a registered nurse. She worked as an elementary school librarian in White River Junction for many years. She and her husband owned and operated the Harvest Bin on Sykes Mountain Avenue in White River Junction.
She was an avid potholder knitter and she enjoyed playing cards.
She is predeceased by her husband Roger Richards and a brother Larry Diette.
She is survived by a son Ralph Richards of South Strafford and three daughters Rae Richards of Quechee, Mary Oronte of White River Junction, and Martha Richards of Rivesville, West Virginia, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister Alicia Couture of Westfield, VT
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday August 10, 2010 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in White River Junction at 10 AM. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Knight Funeral home in White River Junction has been entrusted with the arrangements.
