IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marian Lois
Biebel
November 16, 1929 – September 25, 2025
Plainfield, NH- Marian Lois Biebel died Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative Care in Lebanon, NH. Marian was born November 16, 1929, in Milford, Connecticut to Mary Lois (Thomas), and Wilbur Adolphus Miller. She was the high school sweetheart to Warren Biebel of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who after 75 years of marriage also died at the Jack Byrne Center in August of 2024. Marian studied nursing at Bridgeport Nursing school and became a licensed practical nurse. Her nursing career would serve her and the family well while Warren studied to become a pastor and for years thereafter. His career brought the growing family to the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire in the early 1950's where they served for many decades.
As a nurse, and pastor's wife, Marian enjoyed playing the organ and piano each Sunday for services at all the churches they were called to: Calvary Baptist Church of Claremont, New Hampshire, The First Baptist Church of Windsor, Vermont (now Trinity Evangelical Free Church), and The First Baptist Church of Meriden, New Hampshire. She and Warren founded Singing Hills Christian Fellowship, a camp and conference center in Plainfield, NH in 1972. In 2022, Singing Hills celebrated 50 years of ministry with churches from all over New England and beyond. They retired to Sebastian, Florida in 1990, and volunteered in local ministry service while Marian taught piano and sang in various choral groups for 25 years. Marian loved sewing, knitting, and crocheting and created dozens of blankets for all her children and grandchildren. When their health began to fail, Warren and Marian moved back to Plainfield and co-built a home with daughter Judy and her husband Don.
In 2024, the Town of Plainfield gifted Warren the Boston Post Cane for being the oldest resident of the town. The Town also gifted Marian the cane in 2025, after his passing, as she then became the oldest resident of the town.
Marian was predeceased by her parents, sister Catherine, husband Warren, son David, daughter-in-law Kathie (husband Paul), and four great grandchildren. She leaves son, Daniel (wife Cheri), son Paul, daughter Judy (husband Donald), twelve grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service and reception at 2pm on Saturday, October 25th at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Windsor, Vermont where Warren served as pastor for 13 years.
