Obituary

North Hartland, VT – Marian May Adams Wimett, 77, died Sunday, July 20, 2025, in East Thetford, VT.

Marian was born August 26, 1947, in Lebanon, NH, the daughter of Donald and Margaret (Kimball) Adams. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1965 and married her high school sweetheart, David P. Wimett Sr July 17, 1965, at St. Anthony's Church in White River Junction. They lived in Hartford before settling in Enfield, NH, where they raised their family. After a brief move to Kansas, they returned to Enfield within six months. In 1999, Marian and David moved to North Hartland, where she remained.

Marian was a dedicated worker and often held two jobs at a time. Over the years, she worked at New England Telephone, the Hanover Inn, Purity Supreme, Hypertherm, and most recently, Lebanon Ford/NuCar. She was a longtime member of the Lebanon Motorcycle Club, where she and David participated in the Hill Climb events, and she bowled in a league at Twin State Bowl in Lebanon. Marian loved to travel, especially on cruises, and visited the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and the Panama Canal. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends. She was known for her strength and devotion to her family; her kindness, generosity, and the joy she brought to others.

Marian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David P. Wimett, Sr.; two sons, David Jr. and Donald; a brother, Ed Kimball; and a sister, Barbara Rodgers.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Braley & fiancé Mike Martin of South Royalton, Charlene Gaudette & husband Raymond Gaudette of Hartford; her sister, Nancy Maxham of Cocoa, FL, ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 31st at 2pm in the Hartford Cemetery. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be shared in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .

The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support and welcomes expressions of sympathy, including flowers, which bring comfort and beauty during this difficult time.
