Wilder, VT – Margo Bizer Colby, 75, died Friday November 26th at her home in Wilder.
Margo was born in Hungary, a daughter of Istvan and Julianna (Toth) Laszlo. She moved to the United States in her early twenties to escape the Hungarian Revolution. She lived first in Connecticut and then for many years in Rhode Island, she also lived in Virginia for a time before moving to Vermont.
Margo loved to help others wherever she lived. She was an avid volunteer including with Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes, the Virginia National Guard and most recently in Vermont where she cooked for local community dinners.
She is survived by her four children, Tibor Bizer of Brookfield, CT, Yvette Eldridge of Madison, NH, Richard Bizer of Wilder, VT and Eric Colby of Limington, ME; a brother Istvan Laszlo; two sisters Maria Kemeny, Erzsebet Mecseki; six grandchildren, Meckenzie Bizer, Dylan Duprey, and Alexandria, Mara, Skye and Logan Colby as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Thursday December 2 at 7PM. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday December 4th at noon at the Church of the Nativity Lutheran Church in North Conway, NH with Reverends Ann & Tim Roser officiating.
