McLean, VA- Margery Grenon Grainer, 79, former resident of Hartford, VT, died July 18, 2016 in City, VA
Margery was born May 29 1937 in Hanover, NH the daughter of Ernest and Virginia (Roberts) Grenon. She graduated from Hartford High School and continued her education at the Franklin Stenotype Institute in Boston, MA. Upon her completion she joined the Central Intelligence Agency. Her first assignment was in Vienna Austria. In Munich she met her future husband Hans Grainer a psychologist and fellow member of the agency. They were married in Florida in 1965. She then completed tours in Hong Kong, Frankfort and London. She retired from the CIA in 1999 to McLean, VA with Hans.
She is predeceased by a brother Richard Grenon; and two sisters Ann Jenks and Carol Bebeau.
She is survived by her husband Hans Grainer of McLean, VA; two sisters, Joan Kelton of Middlebury, VT and Nancy LeBrun and her Husband Jack of Lebanon, NH.
A private committal service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Junction, VT. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction has assisted with local arrangements.
