Enfield, NH- Margaret P. Levesque, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 3, 2021 at her home.
Margaret was born November 5, 1934 in Lebanon, NH; a daughter of Carroll E. and Rose S. (Young) Putnam. Margaret graduated from West Lebanon High School class of 1953. She worked for Southern New England Telephone Company in Hartford, CT. After moving to East Windsor, CT she went to work in the local schools as a paraprofessional and started a long career in childcare facilities. In 1983, Margaret moved to Enfield to work at Cradle Crayon Day Care until 2000 when she went to work for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Child Care, now Bright Horizons Children's Center. After retiring in 2009 she continued to work there per diem.
Margaret was a devoted member of Saint Helena's Parish in Enfield, La Salette Charismatic Prayer Group, and Bible study for many years with Father Ross of La Salette Shrine. She was also an activate member with the Lebanon American Legion Auxiliary, and the West Lebanon High School Alumni Association. She was also an active volunteer for the VA in White River Junction, Mascoma Feeding Friends, and Upper Valley food pantries.
Margaret was very involved with family history and dedicated her life to her children and family. She traveled throughout New England with the Upper Valley Travel Group, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play basketball, baseball, softball, and lacrosse. She also enjoyed summer concerts with Father Pat at La Salette Shrine.
Margaret is predeceased by a brother John Putnam and two sisters Ilene Putnam Reed and Catherine Putnam Hamilton. She is survived by two sons, Gary J. Levesque and wife Marcia of Marlow, NH and David M. Levesque and his wife Eden of Enfield, NH; six grandchildren Benjamin, Adam, William, Jordan, Sarah, and Shayna; one great-grandchild Leah Renee, and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Monday, January 11th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT. To abide by capacity limits, guests should wait in their vehicles and funeral home staff will escort you in the order that you arrive, as space allows. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the La Salette Shrine in Enfield, NH. Burial will be held at a later date in the Lake View Cemetery in Enfield, NH.
