Wilder, Vermont – Marcella J. Stoelting, 97, died peacefully Friday evening, August 21, 2020 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was born October 16, 1922 in Valparaiso, IN the daughter of Raymond and Edna (Wandrey) Griffin.

She grew up in Glen Park, IN and graduated from Glen Park High School in 1940. She began to further her education but was cut short due to World War II and went to work at Briggs and Stratton. She married Wallace L. Stoelting Sr. in 1945 in Gary, IN. She stayed at home raising her two sons until they moved to Wilder in 1962. Marcella was later divorced, and took two positions to support her family, one being at the League of NH Craftsman in Hanover, NH. And the second at the Fountain of Youth Health Club in White River Jct., VT, she worked until the age of 75. After retiring Marcella took on the position of secretary at the United Methodist Church in White River Jct., VT. Throughout her entire career Marcella was a tireless worker.

She loved watching all kinds of sports especially golf and Tiger Woods. She also loved tennis and professional football, specifically the New England Patriots. Most of all Marcella loved her church and the dear friends she made there. She enjoyed talking with friends on the phone daily. One of her favorite activities was attending church on Sunday mornings and then going to breakfast with her church family up at Crossroads Cafe, she also enjoyed the turkey suppers the church held. Second only to her New England Fried Shrimp Diner the Ninety-Nine Restaurant. Another favorite of Marcella's was getting her hair done on Saturday's at Le Salon with Jean.  She always enjoyed her time there.

Family was important to Marcella; she enjoyed taking care her sons golden retriever Tanner that she watched every day. She also enjoyed when her son came from Indiana each year and they had their annual family/friend's cookout at her house.  It was such a good time for Marcella.

She was predeceased by her parents and her only brother, Kenneth Griffin and a niece Tracy.

Marcella is survived by two sons, Wallace B. Stoelting and his wife Nancy of Elkhart, IN, Raymond W. Stoelting and his wife Lisa of Wilder, VT. Two grandsons, Derek Stoelting and wife Patti. Clinton Stoelting and wife Krystal.

At her request, and due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no public service. Following her cremation, her cremated remains will be buried in her family plot in Indiana.

Marcella loved animals, especially dogs and asked that memorial contributions be made to either the Long Trail Canine Rescue, P.O.
