Madeline B. Walsh, 90, a former longtime resident of Windsor, died at Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, Florida on March 6, 2013.
Born Madeline Silvia on June 13, 1922 in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, she moved to Windsor, Vermont as a young child and graduated from Windsor High School in 1939. She married Gerald F. Walsh, also of Windsor, in 1942. She worked her entire career for Cone Automatic Machine in Windsor as the manager the Data Processing department until her retirement in 1984. In retirement she lived in Pinellas Park, Florida. An avid golfer, she and Gerald were active members of Windsor Country Club and Mainlands Country Club in Pinellas Park. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park.
Survivors include son Jeffrey Walsh and daughter-in-law Lisa Walsh of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and many nieces and nephews. Maddy was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Walsh, son David Walsh, and sisters, Catherine (Pinky) Farrell and Margaret (Bunny) Jones.
An hour of visitation will be held Saturday, April 13 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Raphael Nyabenda, Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor, will officiate. Committal services will follow in the St. Francis Cemetery.
