Glencliff, NH- Madelene E. Trussell, 77, former longtime resident of Norwich, VT, died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Glencliff Home for the Elderly in Glencliff, NH.

Madelene was born December 15, 1940 a daughter of Leonard and Evelyn (Powers) Estes in Norwich, VT. She grew up in Lyme, NH, and at an early age found a talent for caregiving helping her mother raise her five siblings. Madelene graduated from Orford High School class of 1958. She was married to Ronald Kenneth Trussell August 22, 1959 in Lyme, NH. They made their home in Norwich, VT where they raised their three children. Madelene went to work as a home health caregiver in many private residences throughout the Upper Valley and in her later years she worked at the Hanover P&C.

Madelene was a devoted and faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church attending the West Lebanon Congregation. The families unwavering dedication to the church shined through there weekly attendance of church and annual trips to the churches camps in Maine. She learned to downhill ski in her 30's at Suicide Six in Woodstock. She will always be remember for her own unique way of caring.

Madelene is survived by her loving husband Ronald "Bob" of Lebanon, NH; a son Ben Trussell and his fiancé Alice Tanguay of Orford, NH; two daughters, Audrey Streeter and her husband Bruce of Orford and Lori Ballou and her companion Dennis Smith of Tunbridge; two grand daughters Tiffaney Trussell and Tacia Vanasse and her husband William: two grandsons Travis Streeter and Lucas Streeter; two brothers Russell "Rusty" Estes of Lyme, and Thomas "Tommy" Estes of Barre, VT; three sisters Pauline "Polly" Gray, Linda Wooodward both of Orford and Roberta "Robbie" Pike of Lyme and her step father Cecil Currier also of Lyme.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday August 28, at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT from 6-8pm. A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday in the Hillside Cemetery in Norwich at 11am.
