Lebanon, NH – Mabel H. Dyer, 88, died Tuesday evening, April 22, at
the Lebanon Center Genesis Health Care Facility in Lebanon, NH. She
was born July 21, 1925 in Hanover, NH the daughter of Harold C. and
Helen O.Ward. Mabel grew up in Strafford, VT and attended
Hanover High School. She was married to Frank Dyer in 1947.
Following their divorce in 1969 she went to work as a housekeeper in
and around the Upper Valley region. For many years Mabel served the
Schumann family in Hanover as a housekeeper and nanny. She lived
most of her life in Strafford, VT before moving to Wilder, VT in her
later years. She lived in West Lebanon, NH for a brief time before
she moved to the Lebanon Center Genesis where she has resided for the
past five years.
Mabel was a strong independent woman. She was devoted to working and
supporting her family. Cooking and baking were her two favorite past
She was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph H. Ward and Donald L.
Ward. She is survived by two sons, Dale A. Dyer and his wife Judith
and Rex A. Dyer and his wife Patty all of Sharon, VT, three
grandchildren, Darci, Kim and Cody,five great grandchildren two
sisters, Myrtle Spaulding of Hartford, VT and Aldea M. Brown of El
Paso, TX as well as many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in
the Strafford Cemetery in Strafford, VT. The Knight Funeral Home in
White River Jct., VT has been entrusted with
arrangements.
